Metaphotography: Reflection and self-awareness in the contemporary image

From February 15 till March 21, 2012 I will be teacher of the course ‘Metaphotography: Reflection and self-awareness in the contemporary image’ offered by the e-learning program Visions of Art.

The course, a 5-week online program addressed to Spanish speaking students worldwide, deals with self-reflective photography, what has also been described as self-aware images.

‘Safari’ is the first solo overview of Atladóttir & d’Ors’ collaborative projects The First Collection and The Independent Republic of Bellona.

Since early 2010 Atladóttir & d’Ors work together on The First Collection, a multidisciplinary project positioned within the boundaries of art and avantgarde fashion. Framed as a thematic collection Atladóttir d’Ors make costumes, photos, videos and installations using a colorful, crafted aesthetic to create scenographies inspired by news, popular culture and scientific imagery.
