‘The Independent Republic of Bellona’ unveiled at the opening is part of The First Collection, my project in collaboration with Icelandic artist and fashion designer Dagmar Atladóttir.
De Aanschouw is located in a cultural area on Witte de Withstraat, the art and design street of Rotterdam. The show-window is attached to the exterior of a bar called ‘de Schouw’. Since 2001, almost 400 artists (national and international) have shown their works at ‘de Aanschouw’.
Every Friday night at 20.30h there is an official switch of the art with the artist present.
The artists are announced in a 12-week program invitation; every 12 weeks a new program with a new series of exhibitions.
